Fun Place!. My husband and I frequent the Carolina Ale House in Cary and have always found it to be a fun atmosphere with great service.

We love that we can go up there with our parents and everyone is comfortable. The menu has something for everyone, plus I tried one of the new menu items. The Caribbean Fish tacos were a great surprise. Crispy fish with a kind of spicy coleslaw and topped with mango and pineapple. Not something I'd expect to find, but I'm glad I tried it!

They lied and made me sick!. They have lied to me so many times. First when I was there and they said they could prepare a gluten free meal and it wouldn't be a problem. Then when they offered (I didn't request it) me a refund check and it never came!

Obviously everything from their kitchen is so covered in crumbs and God knows what that I wouldn't even feed their crap to my dog. Cross contamination and problems for guests with food allergies is a sign of a dirty kitchen so now you know the truth.

Sit at the Bar. I always sit at the bar and get excellent service. One bartender in particular is very personable and aware of the entire bar.

If you live in Cary there aren't very many places to go late night that offer food. I feel like this ale house used to be a lot busier and I would love to see the 20 and 30 somethings back in there on a regular basis.

CitySearch's Bogus Rating System !!!!. This is yet another example of a Restaurant you do not want to Spend Hard-Earned Money in, yet according to CitySearch, it has a 4.5-Star Rating. BUT IF YOU DO THE MATH... and divide the number of Reviews into the number of Stars awarded............You Get a RATING of 2.7 ...........!!!!!!!!!!! CitySearch is Worthless!

Pay attention to the check. The atmosphere is decent and the food is tolerable if you want to snack on something while you watch a game or have a few beers. The main problem is the practice of "adding items" to the check that were never ordered. The staff may take the liberty of adding a few extra beers or Cokes, etc. to your check, especially with larger parties. I stopped going there because of that reason. If you go, make sure you review your check for accuracy. However, if there's a problem, don't expect the managers to do anything about it. I have found them incredibly rude on more than one occasion.

What happened to the Ale House???. My friends and I used to LOVE going to the Ale House! We enjoyed appetizers, meals, drinks, pool, everything. The last 4 times I have gone there have been in the last 6 months. The first time, my roommate had a chunk of glass in her food. The waiter was obviously young and had no idea what to do so he got a manager and they took care of it. However it still turned up on our bill at the end! We had to ask them again to take it off as she obviously didn't eat it. The next time, I was eating their beer cheese soup. I pulled out what looked exactly like a Kraft Singles wrapper! The waitress offered me another bowl which I declined, and AGAIN it was on my bill at the end of the night! The last time we found a long hair in the middle of the vegetables that came with my friend's steak. That was it. I complained to the manager that gross stuff like this keeps happening and they didn't even offer us a free meal, a reason to come back, or anything.

I won't be going back. There are other places to get appetizers and burgers that has a kitchen staff that pays some attention to what they are doing.

Don't bother!! Manager is unfit for the position.. Every time we order from the Ale house, we order a lot of food to go. Especially for lunch, we have a 20 person work crew. So, we can understand when something messes up, but no to the point where they blame the customer! We ordered 6 items from them the other day and one of them included chicken quesadillas. When I went to pick up the order, I assumed they had everything in the bag. We noticed after I had gotten back, that the quesadillas were not in there. I called to let them know, assuming that I did pay for it, and the manager said "well you didn't pay for it." That's the first sign of poor customer service. He should've apologized and let us know that he'd be happy to fix the problem. He told me to come up there and pick them up and he'd give them to us for free. OK? So I did drive all the way back up there, considering that this was lunch for my boss, and the manager approached me, repeating that we did not pay for the quesadillas, then he pushed them towards me on the bar, sliding them passed me when I was standing right next to him. Then he added, "in fact the person who ordered it didn't even say that they wanted these." I WAS THE PERSON WHO ORDERED IT and I told him that. Then he pushed the box even further away saying, "well here, they're for free then" and walked away. WHAT KIND OF MANAGER DOES THIS?! No one even argued with him. I would've been happy to pay for the food if the girl who took the order simply didn't hear us. POOR SERVICE, MEDIOCRE BAR FOOD, BAD ATTITUDES, ESPECIALLY FROM MANAGEMENT.

Service is the Worst!!!. I was well warned by my sister that the service sucked, but I was really craving their wings... well I order a side of fries with my order and I literally got about 10 fries on this little plate (for 2 bucks)...I told the waitress that i was under the assumption that I would get more fries than these and she immediately got an attitude and started making snide comments everytime she visited our table... I couldn't believe how rude she was... I won't be going back. If you value good customer service stay away from the Ale House!

Well worth a visit!. Have visited there for lunch and dinner, numerous times. Great food for the price. Portion size is good - fries are excellent! Best ever. Ok for kids during the day or early evening, would not recommend it on game nights, but game day ok. Good breakout of smoking and non-smoking area. Best manager - Steve, friendly ( cheers for our team every time ) and even refills our drinks. Courteous wait staff. Great selection on special menu. Recommend a neutral soup available every day and flat screen TV's. Definitely will return.
