What is it that makes food at some
restaurants delicious and at other restaurants the same meal is horrible? Several times running my small family has gone to Ruby Tuesdays for dinner and every time, other than a passable salad bar, the food was just not good. It was kind of tasteless and was not hot. I wonder if their food is pre-prepared and microwaved maybe? The cost was the same as it would have been at Carrabas, but the quality was poor. I felt bad for the perfectly nice waitperson having to serve such yucky food. No wonder this restaurant is always mostly empty. Too bad, because I kind of like the decor.

Dirty Table and Worthless Manager.
My wife and I went out for a quick dinner on a Friday night with our 18 month old and most of the restaurants had long waits. However, Ruby Tuesdays didn't and we found out why. Their food was pretty much par for the course, nothing special, and our waitress was good.
The issue was with their bus boys and manager. While there, I stuck my elbow in ketchup that was never cleaned up from the previous patron...I didn't say anything figuring they just missed a spot. When I got home I discovered I had ketchup all along my right side, obviously more than just a spot. Now that I was very irritated by the experience, I decided to call the manager to let her know about the issue...I was not looking for a free meal. Though she apologived for the experience, she seemed very insincere and did her best to just brush me aside hoping I'd leave her alone. Well she got her wish, we will never be going back there again.
I can only hope that our waitress didn't have to share any of her tip with the bus boys, because she was about the only one there that knew how to do their job. If you don't mind wearing a tarp to eat and having an uncaring manager to deal with issues, this is the place to eat.

Excellent.
Drove from Charlotte to Cary to meet family for a birthday lunch. The waitstaff could not have been kinder or more generous. Our server (sorry I forgot her name!) was very helpful with special order items. Our food was cooked exactly as ordered and all three entrees were delicious. Later, more family came by just to say hello and stayed another 30-45 minutes. We never got one look meaning "please go now". We did try to compensate our waitress for the extra time we took. Our experience was great. Our hats are off to Ruby Tuesday in Cary!

Food is not good... HORRIBLE service.
I am a big Ruby Tuesday fan, but this particular location is always bad. Food is always cold and sometime undercooked and service is always very slow. Managers are not friendly.
