worst run business in the country
by Dont get hosed at Citysearch
This Best Buy in Cary NC at crossroads, is the worst run business in the country. I took my computer there, and they wiped the hard drive. I bought a three-year agreement on a Norton Antivirus, and they didn’t activate it so it didn’t work. They would not fix the problem, and Norton said they could not fix it, so I had to buy it again online. The Assistant Manager said that they do not activate any Antivirus’ at their store, and that they just scan them and sell them. Of course, this was not true. I have heard many other nightmare stories about their Geek Squad. This store is run by idiots period, so stay away.
Rude and mean sales people in the TV department!

Terrible sales people in the TV department at Best Buy in Cary! I went in to purchase an AV Receiver to use with my new TV I purchased a few weeks ago at another Best Buy. I was approached by a female associate and was asked if I had any questions. I asked a semi-technical question about using HDMI-CEC to sync the TV power on/off with the receiver power on/off. The sales "lady" (and I use that term loosely) was completely inept and hostile. She CLEARLY did not know the answer to my question. Instead of saying she did not know the answer, she proceeded to tell me that she was an "expert" and told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. I walked over to a display receiver and showed her the option I was asking about in the menu. Her face turned red. I proved 100% that she was wrong. She could not believe that any customer could possibly know more than she did. She then called another employee over and walked off. The other employee told me that she was an "expert" and basically asked me to leave. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that he was “on vacation” – yeah right. UNBELEIVEABLE! I am going to return the TV I just purchased because of this awful experience.
To sum it up: "Best Buy, where it is IMPOSSIBLE for a customer to know more about the products than the minimum wage sales drones". I WILL NEVER purchase anything at Worst Buy ever again. I will also stop my company from volume purchasing anything through Worst Buy ever again. I recommend using Worst Buy as a physical catalog where you can go in and see/touch the products and then purchase them at Amazon or Newegg where the prices will ALWAYS be cheaper. Or go to HH Gregg a few blocks away. At least they are somewhat willing to work with you.

A place to go when you need eclectronics but dont think you will get much in the way of service. It takes a while to get someone to help.

i just went to best buy in Cary in search of a computer, when i arrived i was very annoyed with their sales staff. I was interested in buying a apple lap top so i asked a salesman for some help. he replied that it was not his department and he would find me someone that could help me. so ok i wait and wait and wait.....nobody comes, asked another sales person and she replied that she was currently helping someone else. so again i waited, after being told by the third salesman that they would find someone to help me and no help arriving i left the store and decided to shop online. wont shop their again
- Pros: Great inventory

I called Best Buy Store on Sept. 14th 2009 as well as went into the store (as stated in the comment below) and had a very bad experience. While it is unfortunate that I had a bad experience with this store. The regional manager contacted me and corrected the situation. It is good to know that Best Buy took accountability for the situation and the steps to correct it.
