After 3 yrs, the deck looks 10 yrs old. I had a deck built by Garuda- sorry to say I have to concur with one of the prior reviewers- the wood he used was awful. (I have stained/sealed it every year, so that's not the problem.) Also, his crew does not bolt the large corner boards on the upper railings- other quality deckbuilders in my neighborhood bolted these boards. Gary's crew used nails only. Poorer build. If you don't mind losing $5-8k to his lowerbid contract and much sooner than necessary having to rebuild, then go ahead. If I could go back, I'd choose a different builder that uses much better wood and bolts the corner rails.

Garuda Decks. Gary and crew built our 400 sq. foot deck approximately 14 months ago. We searched the area for deck builders and researched what we wanted in our deck. Gary came out and gave us ideas and a fair estimate. He and his crew went to work on time and finished on time. Their work is top notch and professional. We had one rung that needed replacing and he sent a crew member out to replace it. The deck is sturdy and well built. The lumber is top quality and we used the stain recommended by Gary. We are 100% satisfied with the results and have been enjoying it ever since! We can recommend Garuda Decks without reservation!

Thank you Gary & everyone at Garuda Decks!. We utilized Angie's List to find companies to replace our existing deck. After talking to several & meeting with two we decided to go with Garuda. Gary was very personable & knowledgeable. He listened to our wants, made suggestions, came up with a plan which we approved. We received a quote & when the work was finished there were no surprises. He completed the work in 2 days with one trip back after to touch up sanding spots. The professionalism of Gary & his crew was exemplary. The quality of our deck is excellent and the material quality is very good. We are extremely pleased with our new expanded deck (about double in size) at a cost that was very reasonable & competitive. We would highly recommend Gary & Garuda Decks. Gary kept us posted on scheduling and was very reliable. Each day they left the area very clean. The wood from our old deck & scraps were picked up within 2 days leaving our yard spotless. Gary recommended we wait 6 weeks before staining/sealing the wood which we will be doing very soon. He recommended a company & product that he feels provides the best quality & protection.

We are extremely pleased & happy with the work that Garuda provided. Our new deck is a wonderful addition to our home which we feel certain will outlast us. Thank you Gary & everyone at Garuda Decks!

Excellent work....great attention to detail.. Gary at Garuda decks is a top notch guy and has a level of customer service that surpassed all of our expectations. He chose top materials for our project and built our deck/porch to our exact specifications. One of Gary's big things is cleanliness of the job site and his crew left the jobsite clean every day, which was good for us since we have 3 kids running around the yard. Whenever issues arose during the coarse of our project, he addressed them ASAP even if it involved other vendors (for example, we had an issue that involved the electricians crew).

I interviewed several other contractors for our project, and Garuda was the only one that really took the time to listen to our needs and provide us with a very reasonable quote for our project. He delivered on every aspect of our deck project.

All in all, I would highly recommend Gary and his crew. They were recommended to us via word-of-mouth, and I intend (and have) to recommend them to others.

Would not recommend this builder. Poor quality of wood.. This builder used very poor quality of wood for our new deck. Many of the posts have split quickly and the pickets have bowed. He has been back out twice to replace bad wood. We used the sealer that he recommened and now our entire deck is moldy and contains a lot of mildew. Our deck is only 9 months old and will probably not last us two years before we will have to rebuild it. Before you spend $5,000 on a new deck, check other builders and ask where they buy their lumber. We would not recommend this builder.
