Looking for a quality tailor shop? – This is a busy place. Their customers must be pleased and repeatedly come back. There price is reasonable. My pants was altered by them. It's only $7. My sister have a dress needed to be altered. It will cost almost $100 in other tailor shop. But only cost $47 in this store. She was pleased by the price and the quality of the work. I will recommend this store to all my friend.
Zero Stars – So not only did they screw up my pants (making one leg longer than the other and NOT hemming the lining too so it hangs out) they also overcharged me by $50 by claiming to have done services they did not perform (and that I didn't ask for). Disgusted I started to ask around, I found out that every one of my colleagues had had horrible experiences with this tailor and would never recommend them. One of the ladies at the front desk said she left there in tears. I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau website. They have a D- rating and several complaints against them AND they have at least one complaint filed against them with the NC Department of Justice's Consumer Protection Division.
if you want to redo, then it is a best place to go! – The price is cheap and it is inside the mall. So they attract customers. But you will always wait in the queue and receive a rush measurment!
Last time I went there, they cut my pants uneven. After I tried them on, first, they asked me: are your legs even? - yes, there is no problem about my legs. Then they looked at my shoes and found that my shoes were even too. So they decided to redo it for me for free.
I waited for about couple of days, then went there to get my pants. This time, I found one hem was not fixed properly! I was angry. This was an unhappy experience. They argued and there was no appology! I feel it is a good place to waste time!
Horrible...Avoid at all costs... – Horrible. I bought a brand new pair of shorts that were too long at the mall, and took them downstairs to have them hemmed. I dropped them off on Thursday, and was told to pick them up on Monday, and was given a claim ticket.
I returned on Monday, and after searching for five minutes, they came back and told me that I picked them up on Saturday. When i told them I was out of town on Saturday, and that was impossible, she muttered under her breath, no..."you pick up Saturday."
At that point, i asked her how i could have picked them up on Saturday when I am still holding a claim ticket that says to pick them up on Monday, and she said; "oh...people pick up without ticket all the time."
Obviously, they gave my clothing to someone else, and will not admit that. When I asked them to reimburse me for the shorts ($75 might i add...) they said that the Owner was in China, and they couldn't do anything until he gets back, which would be in 30 days.
I told them that they have two days to either find my shorts, or reimburse me for them; and the lady said, "then take us to court."
I'm filing suit for breach of contract tomorrow morning. I would suggest that anyone else that has had a problem with them in the past to do the same. They do not care about their customers, and this time; messed with the wrong one.
If it was possible to not give them a star at all...that would be my rating. Avoid this place at all costs.
Poor workmanship, worse customer service – I used Lee's Tailors years ago and thought they were wonderful. However, I recently took a formal dress in for alterations and the result was terrible. I took it back 3 times to try and have the work corrected, but they basically ruined the dress. The person who did the original measurements for the alterations clearly did not know what she was doing. They overcharged me, and the customer service was terrible. Every time I went in for a fitting, there were other unhappy customers complaining about their clothes. Depsite good experiences with Lee's in the past, I won't be going back to them, as this last visit was beyond terrible.
Horrible Customer Service – DON'T GO! Or, if you do, here's what to expect:
1. They are short-staffed, so the wait is long both at the register and in the changing rooms.
2. When they pin your clothing they do a rush job, and will argue that it's fine rather than make sure.
3. When I came back to get my clothes I had to wait 10 minutes because they were misplaced.
4. Instead of better alterations, you get debate.
On one pair of paints they took in the waist and hips, but didn't adjust the pockets so they stuck out like ears. It was obvious. Instead of acknowledging that they made a mistake, the woman argued that was "the style" of the pants, until I put on another pair with similar pockets straight from the store and those were flush. Finally they accepted it, but wanted to stitch them closed rather than fix it properly. I refused to accept this, (it is just a cheap and lazy solution rather than proper tailoring) and so they finally agreed to alter the pockets.
(The other pair of pants wasn't even, but they said I would have to pay for them to fix it.)
5. You won't be the only one who gets debate instead of service.
I watched young woman try on her altered jeans. One leg was longer than the other. First the woman asked her if she was wearing the same shoes; the young woman said she wasn't, so the seamstress told her it was the shoes and chided her to always wear the same shoes. The young woman argued the shoes were the same height and pointed to the bunching at the bottom of one leg. The seamstress actually had the nerve to ask her if she ever had her legs measured to know for sure they are the same length! Finally, she marked them and measured, and one pant leg WAS longer. No apology.
P.S. I used Lee's Tailors at Southpoint Mall in Durham, and received great service. In Raleigh? Go elsewhere.
