Worst Salon I've been to in the triangle!!! – If you're new to the triangle or unsure about finding a good salon, DO NOT take a second look at von kekel. I had the worst time at this salon, starting with the appointment time (which was to begin at 10am, and actually begun well past 10:30) My stylist seemed completely confused the whole time, as if she had no clue what she was doing, which in turn made me very anxious about the whole thing. I left more than unsatisfied knowing I got a 2 dollar haircut for $65. Ridiculous! The staff was less than courteous and I was appauled at how terrible their service and salon was. I would absolutely NOT RECOMMEND this salon!!
We apologize that we did not meet your expectations. It is our goal for all appointments to begin on time. Our stylists receive extensive training and attend continuing education classes as well. We stand behind our services and complete customer satisfaction is our goal. Please call us so we can make this right for you (please ask for a director, Paul or Kristi).
Great place to onwind – Well, I have seen 2 reviews on Rhea. She is my stylist. I can't help but say how great she has been. I have been going to her for 2 years. I like Aveda, and the color chosen for my hair is perfect. Rhea is perky but happy and very conversational. I like Aveda products but I don't really care to get a pedicure or manicure there. I have never gotten one only because the salon is not set up for it. As far as hair, color, and service, Aveda is top notch . Not sure about pedicures and manicures though.
Holly is great – I have been really pleased with Holly's personality and skills for waxing treatments. I recently had to have Aloha since it was Holly's day off, and I was very disappointed. She didn't do a good job and I had very red, bumpy, painful skin for a while afterward (which never happens to me). I will definitely only go back when Holly is working. She's great.

Rae is Amazing! – I went in to Von Kekel after seeing it close to where I lived. I had been getting my haircut by my boyfriend's barber (just for trims!), and it was time for a real haircut. I was seen the same day I walked in, and Rae took amazing care of me. Fantastic scalp massage, and she's very perky (but doesn't talk your ear off either). When I got home, I realized I wanted to make some changes, and she squeezed me in the next day to fix what I wanted. She's extremely professional, and the cost for such a great haircut is VERY reasonable. I just moved to Texas, and I'm scared to go somewhere new! I wish I had Rae here!!!
Love love love this place!
Liz is back! – I am so pleased Liz is back at Von Kekel. She is so talented with color... I have missed her. I was in recently with Liz and just as I remember, my highlights and my cut were just fabulous. I have seen few other stylists at Von Kekel in a pinch. They are always so nice to accommadate my wacky schedule. Everyone was great. I am happy to be back in Liz's chair. I also recently had a facial with Aloha, which was wonderful. She was extremely professional, personnable and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend Von Kekel.
Wonderful Color and Cut – Contrary some recent reviews I have just read, when I came on here to review Von Kekel, I had a wonderful highlight and haircut in their Cary location. Leah did a fabulous job. We had a nice conversation, I had some chardonnay offered so nicely to me by the front desk staff., a great consultation, followed by a fabulous hilight and haircut. I could not be more pleased. I would highly recommend Leah and Von Kekel.
Terrific Service – I recently visited Von Kekel for the first time at their Cary location. I had a highlight and a cut. My stylist did a wonderful job on both my cut and my color. I was extremely pleased... I highly recommend the Von Kekel in Cary, NC.
Over priced for newbie service! – Avoid Von Kekel Cary! They charge top dollar and everyone there seems to be a newbie. I'm all about paying extra for a good cut and color, but they are trying to get away with charging top dollar for girls fresh out of beauty school! My color is terrible! You can see the line from the root color and my natural color! And the cut - don't do it! They girl who cut my hair didn't listen to a word I said and just proceeded to chop, chop away! I had to tell her to stop! Do yourself a favor and stay away from Von Kekel Cary at least for a few years until the newbies get some experience!

Inexperienced stylists! Don't waste your money. – I went here to get a simple blow-out for a special event. I have long, thick hair, so it's hard for me to fix it myself. I didn't request anything special, just a shampoo and dry with a little curl to the ends. I ended up looking like I was on my way to a high school prom, with a head full of curling-iron curls. The stylist was awkward with the hair dryer, as if she had no training at all. I felt embarassed even walking to my car. And, what's more, the stylist charged me extra for the length of my hair without telling me she was going to.
It was a complete waste of money, as I ended up having to fix my hair myself. Don't waste your money on this place.
