Amazing cakes!. I just moved to Cary a few months ago and these cakes are TO DIE FOR! I needed a small cake for my 4-year old's party last month, and picked the razzberry one. All the kids loved it and it was a huge hit. Earlier in the year I had the margarita cake for a work party and it tasted like a dream. Great go-to for parties!

Disappointed. I have always heard good things about this bakery, but those folks must have been referring to cakes and pies and not pastries and other "breakfast eats." There wasn't much of a selection, and the cherry pastry I settled for (no apple?) was big on the pastry (which was great and not too sugary!) but not so much on the "barely there" fruit. Next time, I'll just wait for Fresh Market to open -- much better/broader selection and higher quality.

Not worth it. I custom-ordered a birthday cake from here and was quite disappointed with it. It looked nice and cost a lot, but was dry, bland, and worse than what I could have bought at a grocery store for half the cost. So I have never bought from them again. Sorry that a local small business can't compete with the chains. Costco has delicious moist cakes, BTW.

the BEST bakery in NC!!!. YES!! it's even posted on their walls, they've been voted Best Bakery over 5 times!! I called Blue Moon this past week for a cake for my Dad unsure what I'd be getting into because they were reffered to me. I called because their website seemed out of date, however who has time to fix their website when they have SO much buisness! When I called I got to choose from so many flavors, the options were endless. I wasn't sure what to expect but believe me when I got to the bakery I was pleasently surprised! the college and high school students that work there are just the nicest people! (GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!) but the best part was my cake! My cake was GORGEOUS & well worth the cost! The strawberry mousse was heavenly and the butter cream (made with REAL butter!!!) was outstanding!! All my guests and even my picky Dad LOVED it!! I should have gotten a bigger cake! OH, I even had an AWESOME lunch in their cafe! Which was great because they had 2 vegetarian options. So, I highly recommend Blue Moon Bakery! Not only are their cakes absolutely delicious, but I spotted some huge yummy looking cookies and brownies!!!

Too expensive. I used to patronize Blue Moon many years ago and was never disappointed. However, just today I visited and made a purchase and most likely will not be a return customer. The Ranger Cookies tasted like the only ingredients were the coconut, shortening and rolled oats. The lemon cake was very tasty, i must admit, but I have tasted many Southern homemade cakes that put Blue Moon's too shame. There was more to be desired in the lemon butterceam frosting.

Sorry-too over-rated and over-priced.

Love their eclaire. My coworker only orders cake from Blue Moon for her kids' birthdays, so I decided to try. I absolutely love the display. Cakes look sooo beautiful. To sample as much as possible, I bought slices of cakes and a few other individual treats. All are very good, especially Lemonstar. I read all the 1-star reviews. Those folks must have had some unfortunate experiences or their reviews made the Bakery improve. My cakes definitely used butter for the butter cream. I just hope my luck with Blue Moon will keep on!!!!

Their "butter cream" is made without butter?. Although they advertise their "butter cream" they use Crisco, not butter. Their customer service is terrible and they have no artistic ability. Just buy something from the case or go to the Harris Teeter.

Amaturish. First when I was checking out the bakeries around Cary, I was intrigued with positive reviews and fell prey to marketing gimmick ! Now with the real experience I 100% Concur with negative reviews.

They name the cakes that they don't know how and what the originality of those cake recipes are. We ordered a Toasted Almond Cake. The contents mentioned something about Almond butter cream. And to our dismay what we had a blob of sugar cake, with regular icing with cherry flavor !!!.... Yakk ! I will never recommend anyone this bakery. Now I know why the call "Once in a Blue Moon". Certainly a disappointing experience !

Next time save money and head to Sams or any local grocery for the cake

Beautiful cake for a beautiful birthday girl!. At 8:45am yesterday morning, my new neighbor came over to invite my children to her daughter's first birthday party that evening. They are Indian Americans, and moved here only this summer for jobs at NCSU. Many of their new friends are professors, and none have small children. We were delighted to be included in such a special event! She asked me where to find a bakery that would sell her a cake on such short notice. As an avid home baker, we rarely get things from an actual bakery, and I had no idea what to tell her. Then I remembered having read reviews about Blue Moon when I was searching for a donut shop that makes apple fritters. So I told her, based on reading reviews, to try Blue Moon. At 5:30 pm we were at the party... and when they brought out the cake... there were many ooo's and ah's from the guests. Blue Moon had a raspberry themed cake ready, and personalized it with the birthday girl's name. Because of the raspberries in the creamy icing, the cake had a natural light pink color... very beautiful! Such a tall cake required very slim slices, and the 10" cake was more than enough for the group. Often a pretty cake isn't much good to eat... not so with this one! The cakes were of a fine crumb, moist and soft. The raspberry fluffy filling was full of raspberry flavor, and the plain icing on the sides of the cake was tasty as well. Now, while I will still build our childrens' birthday cakes at home, I am very much looking forward to my own visit to Blue Moon to check out their other offerings! Oh and versus a grocery store cake... suffice to say that twice the price gets you 4 times the cake... both in quantity and quality!

I've found a new favorite bakery!. Just used Once in a Blue Moon Bakery for the first time, for my sister's baby shower. Awesome customer service and awesome cake! Our guests not only praised it's appearance, but couldn't get enough of it! We got a 10" round chocolate cake with four layers, with hazelnut cream filling, and this was the first time we've actually been left with no leftovers after a party! Way to go, Blue Moon! The 40 min. drive to Cary from our home east of Raleigh was well worth it!
