Decent, Cheap Meal. Decent cheap meal, but nothing spectacular. They have coupons out there.....use them and you will feel like you got what you payed for.

Apex's Best Mexican Food. This restaurant is run by an hispanic family and they really know what they are doing. The dishes are very flavorful and spiced just right. The chips and salsa are excellent since they make their salsa fresh. The pina coladas are great and they have a $1.99 margarita special! It is authentic Mexican and they have dishes no one else in the area serves. It has been recently painted and new lighting added. It is great and a must try for everyone!

What were the other reviewers thinking?. What were the other reviewers thinking when they gave this restaurant a 5* rating. None of the dishes our group ordered had any flavor or spice. It was bland. Period. I agree the chips and salsa were good but beyond that everything went downhill. The margaritas were not good but most importantly the food was plain bad. This restaurant does not deserve to be called authentic Mexican. When other reviewers on this website and other review websites complained about the exterior and ambiance, we were ready to over look that. I do not mind any kind of environment as long as the food is great. However this restaurant failed to satisfy our craving for good Mexican food. I like Los Tres Magues much better-although not the best I have had it is so muchhhh better than this place. Never ever will I go there again.

Viva Tacos Mexico!. Don't judge this book by it's humble cover or it's rather solitary location - Tacos Mexico is a rare gem that sparkles on the inside. Upon entering you'll be greeted by a smiling hostess as well as the spicy scents of cumin and roasted chilis. As you're led to your table take a moment to appreciate the charming decor. You'll soon find yourselves comfortably seated with a bowl of crispy, warm tortilla chips and a side of chunky tomato salsa with just enough heat to hold your interest. Careful - they're addicting.

We sampled the chicken quesadillas - soft tortilla pockets chock full of chicken and real cheese, carnitas with salsa verde (green salsa with crispy morsels of tender pork) and several typical combination dinners that surpassed everyone's expectations. A few of us made substitutions (black beans for refried, corn tortillas for flour) and all our meals were smoothly delivered without error. Fajitas were smoking, sizzling hot platters full of beef, shrimp, or chicken (or all three), redolent with sweet, pan-fried onions and peppers. Gastronomic veterans will happily find as much to sample as diners who like to play it safe and they will accommodate the heat index if you ask them to. The portions are very generous; all priced very reasonably; and a few of our leftover dinners made for some wonderful lunches the next day.

Instead of the usual sweet tea or soda, try the horchata - a traditional Mexican rice "milk" drink made with cinnamon and sugar. My teenage son had 4 glasses, not including the one he brought home.

This is the true grit of Mexican dining - commercial chain restaurants cannot hold a candle to Tacos Mexico. You'll feel as though you're eating with "la familia" and will want return again and again.

Taco's and more Taco's. The food is very good. From their Burrito's to their Taco's and everything in between. A very good place to eat for lunch or dinner.

Good, Authentic Mexican Food. Tacos Mexico is a more authentic restaurant than a lot of the places in the area. They've got very good food, good prices and a comfortable atmosphere. My favorite dish is the steak in green salsa. It's quite spicy but well worth the burn. They're family friendly as well.

Holy Frijoles. One might ask, "How in hades can a mexican food restaurant located inside what looks like a tractor shed legally stay in business for this many years?" Simple. By serving authentic mexican food so delicious it will make you want to kick your momma in the face. Somehow, the inside defies all spatial logic and one is quickly forced to abandon any preconceptions relative to the exterior of the building. Everything about this place is great. Let's start with the name; Tacos Mexico. You know they are legit by way of their poor English grammar. The sanitation rating; 95 and has a good track record. The service; excellent. I ordered the Enchilada Tricolor which consisted of three enchiladas - 1 beef, 1 chicken, 1 cheese - rice and black beans. Half of the enchiladas were covered in red sauce and the other half were covered in pica de gallo. A generous strip of the mexican crumbly cheese was placed across the center of all three. This created the appearance of the mexican flag bookend by rice and black beans with great flavor and a nice little kick from the pica de gallo. I know a family that was ready to move back to San Diego because of all the bogus mexican food they had been directed towards. Tacos Mexico is what allowed them to stay in North Carolina.

Authentic, delicious Mexican food!. My husband and I moved to the Raleigh area about a year ago and I was bummed by the seeming lack of good Mexican restaurants. We moved from Seattle and were kind of spoiled in having many choices at our fingertips. :) Off of a recommendation from a friend, I decided to try Tacos Mexico. Driving up to the restaurant, I admit, I was a little concerned - the pavement around the restaurant is a joke, and the restaurant looks kind of like a hole in the wall. HOWEVER, it's much prettier inside, and just like a lot of smaller, less-known restaurants, has good, flavorful, authentic food. We were thrilled to have found this gem and continue to go back. The only sometmes-difficult thing is that not all of the servers speak very much English, so sometimes it's hard to communicate about particular ingredients in a dish or ask how something is served. But hey, it's authentic through and through, and they speak a lot more English than I do Spanish! :) Lunch seems to be their busiest time, so be prepared to go a little early or wait a bit. Their combo plates are wonderful and inexpensive, and their salsa is freshly made. If you want authentic Mexican food, this is where to go. Try an entree with their shredded beef - amazingly good!
