What People Are Saying About Sawasdee Thai Restaurant

In Short – Forget Chinese zodiac placemats and the plink of koto music--Sawasdee combines hot colors and quirky decor for a unique look. Tangerine walls and velvet curtains create an eclectic yet homey space. The kitchen features both the expected fare (spring rolls, green curry, pad Thai) and house specialties. Portions are large; the sa-tay chicken could feed a village and the spicy catfish's crispy textures excite the mouh with savory flavors of chili and basil.
Very disappointing

After much anticipation - yuck. The hot appetizers were cold. This should have been a sign of things to come since we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time. Will definately not recommend nor go back nor visit the new location. There are way to many really good Thai restaurants to waste time with this one.
Best place I've tried in the Triangle

I grew up eating authentic Thai food, as we have a family friend from Thailand. So needless to say, I'm pretty discriminating when it comes to Thai food. Sawasdee is the best place in the Triangle for Thai (that I've tried). I'd surprisingly never had Drunken Noodles before, but I can tell you when I get them at other places, they definitely don't compare. I don't find the price for Thai to be expensive here, in fact its one of the cheapest Thai restaurants I've been to in Raleigh. The decor is bright and inviting, although the place is small. I find it to be a romantic place, but I can see where others wouldn't. Their spice levels seem to be higher here than at other Thai places, so make sure you talk to your server about the heat levels if you don't like it spicy (they'll change it for you).
- Pros: Interesting decor, excellent food, noninvasive service
- Cons: Its hard to spot from the road on your first time
Savory and delicious!

The food is rich in flavor, and they aren't kidding with the make you cry spice level. The spot is cozy and relaxed, and the staff is very friendly. You get a lot of food and flavor for little cost. Once you eat here you'll look no further for great thai.
