In Short – Decorated in traditional Irish style, the bar is accented with dark wood, stained glass art and Irish beer signs. Good drink, atmosphere and conversation draw people here. The scene is entertaining whether a few patrons or it's a packed house munching on spinach dip, curry fries and crab cakes. It gets crowded and smoky on weekends, but outdoor tables are available. During Sunday brunch, the small kitchen turns out traditional pub bites such as the Reuben.
Editor's Tips
- When to Go:
- Sunday's all-you-can-eat buffet starts with Irish breakfast items and adds nontraditional items like salad, fruit, salmon platter, omelet station and dessert.
- Look Good:
- Monday night pub quiz winners get a $100 gift certificate good for food and drink (tip not included).
- Know Before You Go:
- It's packed Friday and Saturday nights. Get there early (10pm) and grab a booth.
- The Extras:
- The late-night menu is a winner. Order chicken quesadillas, even if you don't see them on the menu. The fish-and-chips is also excellent.
Fantastic!!

This restaurant was excellent! The food was fantastic! Best Shepard's Pie I've had in a long time! And the raspberry bread pudding is a must order. The environment was pleasant with a quiet quaint homey sort of feel with nice low lighting and tv's here and there for the perfect mix of up to date bar but with some romantic touches! The wait staff was exceptional and I received a generous glass of wine. If you haven't been you should absolutely go! It's a good taste of some classic Irish food.
You have to try this place

This place is awesome. Its very authentic looking, very traditional. It really makes you think you could be in Ireland. The service is friendly and they have $10 meals including a salad. I had a huge steak for $10 - amazing. Then I sat outside on the patio for a few beers and people watched for a couple of hours. This place has everything. I'll be back.

I have been going to the Hibernian Pub for about 6 years. I always thought it could not get any better but now they have this $10 special menu which has a salad and entree. This place is always fun and staff always great "craic"

BLOWS CHUNCKS

I never write reviews but I had to sign up to write one for this. Honestly the place has some great character and Irish charm but the service (Waitresses and managers) are horrible and could care less about your experience here. As a matter of fact the staff is like a frat. Nothing against frats I was in one but they treat you like you know nothing because you do not work there. If you ask for more water or beer or whatever it seems like they are bothered by getting it. There is a blonde girl there that could care less about freaking serving people. She is in the wrong industry!... Also the of hours waitresses stay around and party with the people that are working there. Not very attractive and are typically crude to others. If you want good atmosphere and good service head to the Saucer, Napper Tandys, or anywhere else because you are not going to get it here unless something changes... THIS PLACE BLOWS! sorry
- Pros: Nothing
- Cons: Service horrible, managers horrible, food horrible

The service here is the most charming and responsive you'll find in Raleigh. You will never wait long for your favorite drink, be it a Black-n-Tan or simply a vodka tonic. Hibernian offers one of the Triangle's best selections of beer, and they know how to pour a proper pint of Guinness. Our pub menu features Irish favorites like Bangers and Mash and Shepards Pie alongside steaks, sandwiches and salads. We also feature a late night
