Rude and Disinterested Staff. Well our kids love the museum/playground, but two are under 6. They are happy here and we make a point to bring our kids to museums. Our oldest 8 gets a bit bored.

As I said in the Con, almost every time we have visited the museum we have found the staff to be rude and not interested in guests.

Such as waiting long periods for the staff to stop talking to each other to assist us while no one else was around. But, my personal favorite was when I had to take my daughter into the restroom, where we came across a member of staff talking on her cell and she had the audacity to complain about us being loud for washing our hands and for my daughter talking to me while she-the staff was on the phone.

Also, by our definition, this is more of a glorified playground then museum.

Rip-Off, Despite Any Fun. They charge the parents. That's a problem and a total rip-off. Check out Planet Child in Cary, instead. It's $8 per child, but the parents enter free. After all, who's doing the playing? The kid or the parent?

IMAX is worth it all!!!. I really enjoyed the IMAX experience. This is the only theater like it in the area. The closest one is Charlotte. By the way, the Exploris museum is supposed to be merging with the Playspace museum.

Discover the world at this kid-friendly global experience center.. In Short
This unique museum in downtown Raleigh encourages interaction and exploration. Visitors can marvel at the handmade wooden doors from Zanzibar, peek into a closet from Japan, touch a piece of the Berlin Wall or stroll across the map of the world. The Marbles Wall, made of more than one million marbles, illustrates how Earth looks from space. Aside from the exhibits, Exploris also houses Raleigh's only Imax theater.

Incredibly disapointing. So little to do in such a large space! The building is beautiful, but the activities sucked! To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. There was nothing there to keep adults or kids interested for more than a minute. Some of the interactive items didn't even work! I was amazed for $8/ticket the FEW items they did have were not in good working condition. DO NOT waste your money or your time going into this place!

Very Embarrased. I brought my girlfriend to Exploris in the hopes of a fun afternoon. How disappointed we both were! There was nothing we enjoyed. If I were the Customer Service Rep at the front desk I would be embarrassed to take someone's money for this pathetic experience! It was a waste of my money and will never recommend this place to anyone.

Disappointed.... I went with my husband and friend who is a teacher. We did not enjoy it and we do not think many kids would enjoy it either (judging from my friend's knowledge of her students and our nephews). Much of the exhibits are computer interactive screens so I felt I could learn as much browsing the Internet at home. Part of the time we sat and read some international business magazines that were laying out...I can read magazines anywhere...don't need to pay admission for that!

A Joke. No need to visit this museum, the Natural Science Musuem downtown is much better.

Poor Poor Poor..... What a waste of my $6.50 or whatever it cost to get in. The exhibits were meant for kids ... very small kids. Nothing was interesting and the exhibits were makeshift and uninformative. To top it off the museum allows school groups full reign of the place (ie., running, fighting, yelling) and does nothing to curb their rude behavior from interrupting other guests. Don't waste your money on this lousy place... the science museum is right up the street, is MUCH better and is FREE.
