In Short – This unique museum in downtown Raleigh encourages interaction and exploration. Visitors can marvel at the handmade wooden doors from Zanzibar, peek into a closet from Japan, touch a piece of the Berlin Wall or stroll across the map of the world. The Marbles Wall, made of more than one million marbles, illustrates how Earth looks from space. Aside from the exhibits, Exploris also houses Raleigh's only Imax theater.
Rip-Off, Despite Any Fun
by triangletruthteller
They charge the parents. That's a problem and a total rip-off. Check out Planet Child in Cary, instead. It's $8 per child, but the parents enter free. After all, who's doing the playing? The kid or the parent?
- Pros: Fun For Kids of Most Ages
- Cons: EXPENSIVE, Parking
IMAX is worth it all!!!

I really enjoyed the IMAX experience. This is the only theater like it in the area. The closest one is Charlotte. By the way, the Exploris museum is supposed to be merging with the Playspace museum.
- Pros: IMAX
- Cons: parking
Incredibly disapointing

So little to do in such a large space! The building is beautiful, but the activities sucked! To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. There was nothing there to keep adults or kids interested for more than a minute. Some of the interactive items didn't even work! I was amazed for $8/ticket the FEW items they did have were not in good working condition. DO NOT waste your money or your time going into this place!
