The worst experiance ever!. Visitors BEWARE! If you are looking for a fun, safe experiance for your family, DO NOT visit the state fair on the weekends or at night. We arrived on Saturday at 4:00. It was so crowded that we could not even walk in some areas. My children were pushed and a man almost spit right on him. People were walking around smoking pot and smoking cigarettes while in line. The teenagers looked and acted like gang bangers and did not hesitate to cut in line. The lines were atleast an hour long and didn't move because of the people coming in from the sides instead of going to the back. My husband and I got separated and our cell phones did not have a signal. I was told to go to the Expo Center where I could page my husband and have him meet me. He went and did the same at a different location. The problem with this was that there were probably 30 people in there with the same problem, so he was paging me asking me to meet him at one location, while I was paging him to meet me at a different location. Due to all the pages they never connected myself and my husband and we were both inside waiting on each other. While in there several crying children were lost, and the staff and police on duty acted frustrated and like they could care less. I have filed a complaint with the Wake County Sherrifs department. There should be a limit on how many people can attend the fairgrounds at one time. Not safe! Not fun! Not family friendly!!!!
Worst Managment Ever, Super High Rent, Lousy Attitude. The guy who manages the place is both a moron and a tyrant who doesn't know his anal cavity from his esophagus, and the people to whom you give money for rent act like they are doing YOU a favor when they TAKE YOUR MONEY. It's now 25 dollars a day for a PARKING SPACE. Yep, 25 bucks for one day and you get all of one parking space, just enough space in which to park an average sized car. THAT'S 50 BUCKS FOR TWO DAYS FOR one parking space. Why does the state allow such a rip off to happen? Aren't we paying enough in taxes to get the rent down? Guess not, and even worse are the horrible, despicable people who run this thievery. Having an anal probe and a root canal at the same time would be more fun that dealing with the management at the Fairground Flea Market.
dont rent a space. i used to rent there but if you question the practices by the manager you are told to leave. they will rent out your spot if you arrive late with no refund to you,i think this sounds illegal.shane the state lets there gounds be used by a tyrant
Terrible sound Quality.
I went to Dorton arena October 2007 to see Anthony Hamilton in concert. I had great lower level seats. Anthony performance was great but the music sounded like it was bouncing off the walls therefore it was hard to even understand what songs he was actually singing. I was very disappointed this being my first concert (and last) in this arena.
I wouldn't recommend anyone go here to attend a concert.
